Scrubs Review 02: Medelita Argon Scrub Pants
Things that are a pain: final exams, driving more than 2 hours in a car, and scrub shopping.
Things that aren't a pain: eating sushi, Netflix, and... scrub shopping?
I have always had a hard time looking for scrubs that fit my laundry list of needs for work. I like pockets (and lot's of them), stain resistance, and scrubs that fit well and look fashionable. I found all of this and more with Medelita.
The waistband on the scrubs is super thick, which I love- it looks great either tucked or untucked! It is reinforced as well, which is great because the scrubs don't budge when you bend down to pick something up. It feels almost like a yoga pant waistline.
I love that these have a scissor loop as well. I always carry trauma shears at work-- they're useful in many different cases. However, I don't always have a good place to put them. With some scrubs, the placement of my shears kind of hurts when I sit or squat, and with others, they can be hard to get to at a moment's notice. The loop is something that just sort of adds the icing to the cake if you will. And unlike some other scrubs, this loop is very low key; you would never notice it if you weren't using it. Subtly is a good aspect in my mind.

About the company
Medelita was founded by an ER Physician Assistant (bonus points right there) who was fed up with being unable to find all of the things listed above. She decided to make her own scrubs, and the company was born.

Can we talk about how cool this tie is? |
OK these scrubs are a thing of beauty. I received these a while back and have been so impressed with them from the first time I put them on. The scrubs fit so nicely, are water resistant, and have a lot of features that I am so impressed with.
First Impression
The first thing I noticed with these was the vibrant tie on the waistband. It adds a nice pop of color to the scrubs and I love the colors so much. However, the tie is made of elastic, so it is kind of hard to get these babies as tight as I need. The waistband on the scrubs is super thick, which I love- it looks great either tucked or untucked! First try on
These babies fit so well. They are flattering and stretchy to move when you do, unlike most other scrubs which can feel like they're holding you back. The fabric is also water resistance, which is a bonus for clumsy people like myself. Just the other night, I dropped the entirety of my water bottle all over myself at work and was kicking myself for wearing scrubs that absorb water. Should've worn these! They look very modern and even have a slimming effect.

Pocket-ception |
OK, as you can kinda tell, I LOVE pockets in my scrubs. I carry around a crap ton of things on shift with me, so I like to have a place to put everything. These lovelies have huge front pockets (that go down to about mid-thigh), and within the right pocket, is yet another pocket for your phone/pager. Super convenient so I don't have to dig for my pager on shift. The back of the scrubs has two hidden pockets that zip closed for small things. I love these for papers and such, however they aren't quite big enough to shove my phone in (see below).
Antimicrobial properties
OK so I raved about this in my Figs review, but I am so impressed with scrubs that are anti-microbial. Working in a hospital is low key nasty, so I like not dragging as many germs home with me at the end of a day. Another plus is that these don't smell like hospital after work.
Final thoughts?
So I give these a solid 8/10. I could do with a tie on the waistband not made from elastic, and I wish the back pockets were slightly larger. The price point is not student friendly, (these were $42!) so buyer beware.
