Scrubs Reviews 01: Figs

Ok you guys asked for it, so it’s time for my first scrub review! I will be breaking down scrubs with a key few categories: fit, pockets, price and re-purchase-ability (yes I know thats not a word, hush), and how they faired at work.

Featured today is the Figs technical collection. Figs is a scrub company started by a fashion designer and her friend who is a nurse practitioner. The NP complained how her current scrubs were neither functional nor fashionable, so the two women took matters into their own hands and created the sensation we now know as Figs.

I currently own the Catarina scrub top and Kade cargo bottomsBoth are a size medium and both are ceil blue.

True to size?

Topyes

Fit perfectly- long enough to tuck in but not too long to look silly untucked.

Bottoms: run a little large. They're also quite baggy.

I love this top for its fit, but will definitely get one size down next time I order scrub bottoms, or maybe the skinny version of them.

Pocket rating

9/10.
Loved the dual cargo pockets- they fit my Voalte pager, trauma shears, my phone, and even had a spot for pens! There are also two normal pockets, which I tend to never use. However, I wish these also had back pockets.

Cost

10/10. $38 for a top and $48 for bottoms is an outcry. I would never pay full price for these. With that being said, I would probably repurchase from this brand with a discount.

Pro tips

No one I know in their right mind buys these full price. Shop their sales and follow their insta. They tend to do crazy flash sales once every few months. The company also does 15% off new orders and 20% off for students.

Work trials

So I work at a busy trauma center and SOMEHOW these magical scrubs seem to be (fairly) spotless at the end of a crazy shift. I know for a fact that they should’ve been covered in blood and mystery liquids from my day, but NO- they stay pretty much clean. You wanna know why? They’re water repellent! That’s such a smart thing for scrubs to be! I literally wiped a dirty glove on them without thinking about it and there was no mark! Brilliant!
Not only that, these scrubs also don’t wrinkle and some how don’t smell like ER at the end of the night. The thick waist band is also a huge plus for me.
